Populated with one powerful Analog Devices Sharc DSP, the card uses up to 32 bit floating point math to mix and process audio data. The processor connects to the I/O cards using a high speed 24 bit TDM data bus. The internal sampling rate is user-selectable, either 32, 44.1 or 48 Khz or fed from an external source. A boot eprom, which stores the engine's current configuration even during power failure, ensures a fast, accurate start-up (under 2 sec). Each Audio Engine can use one or two DSP cards, either the LoneSharc or Sharc Attack card.
