The heart of Logitek's digital consoles, the Audio Engine was designed for maximum flexibility in your operation. It offers advanced mixing, routing and control functions along with on-board dynamics, EQ, delay and mix-minus capabilities. It's much more than a router!
The Audio Engine offers direct connection to multiple control surfaces and can be networked via high-speed optical fiber for large routing and mixing applications. Scripting and supervisory functions offer unmatched capabilities for one-button trigger events and system information.
Logitek's Digital Audio Engine is a full X-Y audio router for Radio and TV applications, giving you all the benefits of easy audio selection and distribution. (Click on "Router Controllers" to the right for information on using the Audio Engine's router functions.) It also acts as the heart of Logitek digital console systems, performing all the functions of a standard radio console (such as off/on, mixing, cue, etc.). A fully configured engine can handle 128 mono inputs and outputs, up to 64 stereo inputs and outputs or a combination of both. Analog and digital cards can be mixed to handle the required number of signals. Analog inputs can be routed to digital outputs and vice versa. In addition, the engine can perform functions that usually need extra equipment on a traditional console, such as EQ or profanity delays.
Linked Audio Engines can even be used as an Optical STL for Radio facilities that are 6 miles (10 km) or less from the transmitter.
The ability to "hot swap" plug in cards means field upgrades and servicing can be easily and quickly done with minimum on air interruption. Connections, LCD information display and card replacement are all done from the front side...making it easy, fast and convenient.
Built around the powerful Analog Devices' SHARC 32 bit audio processors, Logitek's Digital Engine internally processes 24 bit audio words using up to 32 bit floating point math for a true quality sound. The engine uses a combination of plug-in cards on a high-speed TDM bus, making it easily configurable today and re-configurable to meet your needs in the years to come. In addition, you get the utmost flexibility in defining bus structures, talkback/intercom, relay closure, mix minus and more through Logitek's configuration software.
Logitek's Digital Audio Engine is built to maximize the functionality and value of your audio hard disk storage system. It comes ready to connect with a RS-232 port and a protocol to give any audio hard disk storage system total control.
Turning a channel On or Off, mixing and fading can all be programmed and controlled from a PC. The need for an external switcher is eliminated and so is the additional hardware used by computer systems for device control such as switch sensors and relays.
Your purchase of a Logitek console is the beginning of a relationship. Factory support and service are built in via a modem or TCP/IP connection to the engine through our Supervisor software. Our diagnostic program links with your console to allow us to help you configure, re-configure or troubleshoot. Software upgrades can be made immediately available. Furthermore, for remote broadcasts or sporting events, this modem/IP link can give your talent total control on site without a local operator.
