What’dya Know?

Not much, you? (that’s a shout-out to our friends in public radio) Here’s what’s new:

We’ve changed some of the registry keys from earlier releases. We’re also storing items that we used to put in .cfg files into the registry. This means that the first time you launch the new Supervisor it may not know where to find the engines and you will have to set that up again.
We’ve added a .5 to the file names so you can easily tell old and new applications apart. This also means that the Supervisor profiles need to have their names changed. If your Supervisor is current enough, we have a setup utility that will do that for you. If it is not current enough, you will need to enter the profile information again manually.
Command Builder has had its capacity greatly increased. Once you launch the new Supervisor, you will need to launch the new Command Builder and upload your trigger table again.

v3.5 Release Notes

Does this release include support for Backup Supervisor?

Not yet. However, this release includes a new application called vManager that monitors Supervisor and automatically restarts the program if it stops processing commands. The next step in Supervisor’s development will be returning support for a backup Supervisor PC, and vManager will work in conjunction with backup Supervisor. For now, vManager, combined with a more stable Supervisor should ensure trouble-free operation.

Upgrading to PC software version 3.5

Create a new folder on your PC – c:\logitek-temp
Download all of the new applications to that folder, including Setup 3.5
Launch Setup 3.5
Select the option that fits your situation (either option 2 or 3, depending upon the date of your current Supervisor)
The setup program will prompt you for the location of your existing Logitek files. Point it to the existing folder (usually, this is C:\logitek).
The setup program will prompt you for the location of the new files. The default is C:\logitek3.5. Adjust this if you use a different folder or drive letter.
Launch AE Config 3.5, read each config file (.aec or .a16) and save it without making any changes to ensure that any new formatting is correctly done.
Launch Supervisor 3.5 and set up the COM ports for the engines if necessary. In Supervisor 3.5 you can change COM port assignments without having to restart the program.
Launch Command Builder 3.5, read your trigger table from c:\logitek3.5, and upload it to Supervisor.
Configure and launch any other PC applications that you use at your facility. Do not try using older versions of our software with version 3.5 as it will not be compatible.

If you have not installed Logitek software on your PC before, you will need the AECommand.lib file and a valid DSP table in the same folder as Setup 3.5. (Unzip the contents of the DSP table zip archive into that folder. Contact support if you aren't sure which DSP table is the right one for your engine.)

vScreen Player 3.5 - "Plays" vScreens for the user. A license fee must be paid to Logitek and an unlock key generated by Logitek support before vScreen Player can log into Supervisor v3.5. MatrixIP 3.5 - IP routing matrix. A license fee must be paid to Logitek and an unlock key generated by Logitek support before MatrixIP can log into Supervisor v3.5. There is a separate username and password required to download this software. Contact your local Logitek representative if you do not have a site license and would like to purchase one. (392k exe)
